Frank has been puzzling jigsaws for more than 20 years. It is an engrossing and beautiful hobby, sometimes frustrating but always rewarding. When he started we had little knowledge of puzzles and no idea he would become hooked on them, and this is easy to see in earlier work. The quality of the board, colour definition and general fit of the pieces is poor. As he moved to better quality puzzles the satisfaction in the completed work was much greater and they are worth framing and showing. There is a good deal of variance in his work, which can be seen by the following pictures. |

A real challenge it was the largest work Frank had attempted. It took twelve months to complete. The first task was a massive sorting of pieces into colours and obvious features - there were not many of the later. After a couple of false starts he started constructing the hut and then moved across the picture, then up and down. |

ROSES ARE RED A BEPUZZLED PUZZLE 750 PIECES PLUS 5 EXTRA While not as difficult as we anticipated this puzzle did cause some spirited discussions. The five extra pieces are unknown of course, and one piece we had tagged as an extra all the way through turned out to be the last piece put in the puzzle. In the absence of a border we started doing each set of flowers and then gradually joined them up. What did make it difficult was an inadequate picture to work from, ( deliberate) and some repeated features which extended over the edge of the box and usually that is not part of the completed frame. In this case it was, so perhaps IMPOSSIBLE is correct. |
